I found the following review at Linux.com – Many people still question whether Linux will ever make it fully into mainstream computer acceptance. A $199 computer now available on a major superstore’s shelves just in time for Christmas might change all that. Anyone who wants a computer to just to send email and instant messages [...]

Apple’s BSOD the Latest Chink?
It was bound to happen. It was, after all, only a matter of time. Now it seems that Apple‘s words are coming back to haunt the House that Jobs Built. Apple has always said of OS X that it “just worked”. Apple’s fans have said the same thing and, until recently, rightly so. I know [...]

The MAC Advantage?
I was listening to a podcast and got to thinking about the purported Mac advantage over Windows. Mind you this is not a slam or flame against Apple or the Mac OS. I may be wrong as I come from a Linux/Windows world and have never used a Mac. Here goes – When OS X [...]

Compiz Coming Along
Here are a few YouTube videos of Compiz in action. Compiz makes Windows Vista look like crap. It runs on modest hardware (it will run well on my Toshiba M45-S265 Laptop with Intel Integrated Video). From: Trusted Log – After seemingly endless delays, the OpenMoko phone is here. The first version of the NEO 1973 mobile phone, which carries the Linux kernel inside and is not locked to a specific network, is available for purchase from OpenMoko.com. It’s not as jaw-droppingly pretty as the iPhone, but it shares a design [...]

FireFox or IE
All you Windows users, do you use IE or FireFox as your main browser? I only use IE for Windows Update under XP. For everything else I use FF. On my system it just runs faster and renders pages correctly. Comments?

Linux Withdrawls…
I have tried all weekend to burn the Fedora 7 Live CD to no avail. So I gave up. Now that I’m on my way home, I really want to try the distro. This really sucks. If I’d of had a decent ‘net connection at the hotel I think I would have gotten a download [...]

I need to start off by saying that I have enjoyed the podcast mentioned below, up until now. I feel its lost its focus. According to its website, the podcast is – The reason why I decided to have a podcast for my Linux Desktop For Beginners book is to give readers a hand-holding experience. [...]
